That Wicket VCD looks amazing. Much better than even some of the preview pics suggested it would. Medicom have done a really good job with that one.

Michael Crawford is once again playing to the Freaks as in his post at SSF about his review of the Sideshow ANH Han Solo he basically admits he's going to give Wicket a bad review later in the week.
The excuse? Wicket is apparently "too small" emoticon
Never mind the fact it's superbly sculpted, the fact that it's a tad smaller than it should be is once again enough to condemn the figure and the fawning idiots who hang on his every word are nodding in agreement like the mindless sheep they undoubtedly are.
This obsession the Medi-bashers have with scale is ridiculous and it makes me wonder whether they approach every other aspect of their lives with the same anal mentality.

It's why I steer clear of Sideshow Freaks these days, or when I do post there I limit my posting to TV threads and Doctor Who figures threads. There seems to be far less arguments going on in those threads and I tend to enjoy my limited time there much more.

I only venture into the Star Wars section occasionally but I think I'll stick to the Doctor Who and custom figure related threads from now on as it gets very dull reading the same old crap.
Just once I'd like to read a review of a Medicom figure without Sideshow being mentioned.

I just read the review and I was like emoticon
And those postings about wicket being too small etc....are just another emoticon

I seriously cannot understand their obsession with scale etc...

posting there certainly isnt aas enjoyable as posting over here.

The thing that annoys me is the scale is still treated like a major suprise when it's been apparent for ages that Medicom only make their figures in scale with each other and IMO they should be judged on their own merits instead of constantly being compared to another companies SW line that has way more problems than a slight lack of height.
The other possibility that the Freaks don't seem to consider is that Medicom could also be subject to restrictions from Lucasfilm on how they sculpt certain things in the same way that Sideshow are.

Crawford is going too soft on the Sideshow figures - not that they don't have their merits, but he's obviously pandering to the SSF crowd. He pioneered an awesome review format, but I rarely read the site anymore - my tastes have diverged from mainstream toys.

I get the hunch that a Hong Kong-based company like Hot Toys gets much love for their Hollywood licenses. Whereas Medicom's choices of licenses are more alien (to the SSF crowd), and on top of that, they compete with Sideshow's 1/6 SW line. It's not hard to see why Medi gets such undeserved criticism.
