Sweet!

There's a couple of box sets I'm waiting for at the end of the year, I'll be weighing out a serious amount of cash on DVD's and stuff.

There's the new season of 24, Heroes and now the sixth season of Smallville all on my to buy list, the winter nights will fly by in my house emoticon

Not sure if you guys have heard but Michael has said that Season 7 will be his last. I don't know what the show will do without Lex if it continues into Season 8. If it does continue that far then I really think they need to either give Clark glasses or give him a Super-Suit. Just my 2 cents on the matter.

I think it'd be best to end the show after season seven, I suppose it could go on without Lex/Lionel, but it wouldn't be half as good.

Some of the best stories and episodes of the show have revolved around the trechery of the Luthor's, they'd leave a big hole to fill.

You share my opinion on that subject Chris. Without the Lex or even Lionel it wont be the same show. Heck if I really think about it the show hasn't been the same since Johnathan died. Now without Martha it will be the beginning of the end. Even when he is Superman (as seen in Lois&Clark) his parents are key to his connection to his humanity. They help ground him just as Lois does when the role of Superman and being Kal-El becomes to great. And AlMiles forgot this and that is one of there greatest mistakes with the handling of Smallville.

I wonder if the parents were intentionally written out, or if the actor's just didn't want to renew their contracts so they had to write them out.

Jonathan dying in the 100th episode seems like it was concieved by the writers, but Martha leaving seems more like the actress wanted to do other things.

Even though she'd been a senator for a while in the show, it felt like a quick exit and didn't really do the character much justice.

I was keen to see where the plotline with her and Lionel would go, but it seemed like that was just abandoned completely for some reason.
