Marvel Bowen Mini Busts And Statues
Just thought I'd start a thread about these as they seem pretty cool, much better than the majority of DST's selection. I might pick up some of these characters in the near future.

Anyone else into Bowen statues and busts, if so do you have any and which ones do you have?

Re: Marvel Bowen Mini Busts And Statues
are those mini busts from a new line or the same as the other bowen ones?
how tall are they and what's their quality like? some of them look pretty cool.

Re: Marvel Bowen Mini Busts And Statues
I think they're just a continuation of the existing Bowen line to be honest Nash, which would mean they're made of resin and fairly good quality. I have some of the older Bowen busts like the first Spider-Man and Green Goblin they did. At least I used to have them until I gave them away, which as it turned out was a big mistake .
Anyway the thing is I really want to get back into them, but now they've moved onto the more obscure Marvel characters like Annihlus and Grey Gargoyle, but I wonder what the chances are of them remaking some of the older mini busts as the first versions they did were "armless versions". I know they're doing a Spider-Man remake in the near future so it's possible I guess.

Re: Marvel Bowen Mini Busts And Statues
hmm cool, yeah the one reason why I never gave the bowen busts a thought is because of the armless sculpts.
I never understood that whole concept of having a torso but no arms. If they make the more mainstream characters with arms I'd probably start up on collecting these.

Re: Marvel Bowen Mini Busts And Statues
I think they've gone the route of Gentle Giant with the Star Wars line. Originally a mini bust meant bust, as in head and shoulders only. But they've since learnt that "half statues" are far more succesful with the fans and allow for more dynamic poses.
They're redoing Spider-Man, Daredevil in three different versions, red, yellow and grey armour and there's a Spider-Woman mini bust in near future. All have arms if you're interested .
Oh and Elektra is also due for an immediate re release and I've heard rumours of a new Hulk bust coming soon. That's what's got me thinking it might be a good time to get back into collecting these.

Re: Marvel Bowen Mini Busts And Statues
Have you seen DST's Iron Spider mini bust? It's not up to much Vice but I'm hoping that Bowen makes one in the near future as it will likely be better.

Re: Marvel Bowen Mini Busts And Statues
I have a small collection of the bowen busts, and they are really great! I only bought the ones with arms, I don't really like the armless ones at all.
Here's what I have:
Wolverine - Weapon X
Wolverine - Brown Costume
Wolverine - Yellow Costume
Wolverine - Retro Yellow Costume
Dr Doom
Thor w/Battle Armor
Beta Ray Bill (pose matches Thor)
Taskmaster
I have a couple other Wolvie busts, but the Bowens are definitely my favorites.

Re: Marvel Bowen Mini Busts And Statues
I didn't realise you liked Wolverine so much Reefer =D.
That Dr Doom bust you've got is particularly awesome, one of my favourites in the whole line and I hope they do another version pretty soon. Also Magneto because the only version they have of him at the moment is an "armless wonder".
Could you post some pics of your collection in here when you get chance?
