Re: Changing My Collecting Focus
Haha...awesome stuff, everyone has to start somewhere! The good thing is that there is so much of a variety of toys that you can usually find something that you will like.
I've always loved toys since I was a kid but a few years back I got back into toys as a collecting hobby when GI Joe had started coming back.I was into GI Joe (and still am for the most part) but as Hasbro's interest in continuing GI Joe started to disappear,so did mine.I started just getting "what I liked" whether it was 6-inch Marvel/DC figures but I still have a soft-spot in me for the 3-3/4'' stuff, that's why I LOVE Hot Toys AvP and ALIENS snap-kit figures.
Eventually decided to pick up a 12-inch figure in the form of Hot Toys Scar Predator and it was love at first sight. It took off from there!

Re: Changing My Collecting Focus
Well after a bit of soul searching I have decieded to change my focus as well when it came to collecting. Like Venny, I am a amazed at the high end stuff I have already and most was bought without a job in the picture. While I like them (especially my HT Superman and Tak Batman) I can live without them hence why I am selling some. Rather I am going to be focused on items that are in my range of budget: DCD 13'' and 6'' and Sideshow Star Wars sixth scale. After I get Marvel Legends wave 15 I am thinking of dropping that line as well unless I see something that Hasbro does that catches my eye. I will still be here cause I like you guys to much but my Medicom days are over.

Re: Changing My Collecting Focus
No worries bro, you'll always have a home here no matter what. Ive also been thinking of selling my medi supes just because he doesn't really fit in with the stuff that I already own.

Re: Changing My Collecting Focus
If you can get a HT Superman figure. The best IMO of the offerings from Superman Returns.

I second that.
If you start collecting something we don't already discuss, just create a thread for it and we'll start ha ha

Re: Changing My Collecting Focus
I often think I'll try and streamline my collecting, but as Oscar Wilde once famously said 'I can resist everything but temptation' I'm afraid I'm the same. If it's onesixth I'm in...if it ain't onesixth but cool, I'm in...basically I'm in! but I do recognise it's getting way expensive and we all have a budget and keeping to it gets harder with every release Hot Toys, Medicom, SST, Takara and now freakin Enterbay have realy taken the biscuit...maybe you guys are right and we should all form a union and withdraw our buying power till we get special rates. The United Brotherhood of Medicom, all for one etc etc, Hmmmm, it might just work.
