The expense is also kinda nice as it keeps me focused more on what I really want since it's all I can really afford, stops me going off into lots of other toy lines.
I can certainly relate with what you're saying about Batman figures when you were a kid, I was looking at getting some of The Batman ones but they all come with a crappy action feature and that really put me off.
There are mass market figures aimed at collectors now, but there weren't really any ten years ago, you just had to hope for the best.
No DCSH or Legends or even the UK Doctor Who line, which seems to be aimed at collectors as much as kids given the stuff PE are putting out there.

SSC really don't need us to trash this line with our comments, they're doing a more than adequate job of trashing it themselves with shoddy releases.

They have taken a nose dive since the initial releases, they have their work cut out for them. The more releases they have that are subpar, the more fans are going to turn.

Sideshow needs to correct the following to gain back customers
1- a new better improved more poseble body
2- Quality Control - no more loose threads running around, heck...if hot toys & medicom could do it, why cant they?
3- solve those monkey arms and big head problems
4- better accessories
5- stop releasing exclusives that really arent worth purchasing e.g Anakin Skywalker exclusive with hologram Darth Sidious...

Yeah I think that's been reflected in the lack of fan excitement, I remember how excited lots of SW fans were when the line first began.
I don't think half as many people are still as pumped about this line as there were less than a year ago.

I remember when SSC first got the liscence. I didn't have any of thier figures and was looking forward to getting some. Now that I have a few I can't say that I'm all that excited anymore. The quality of their figures are surely lackin'. Everytime I would head over to RS there's Dave saying how great they are and all you have to do is add water to the clothes like they were a plant or something that had not yet fully blossomed. I sitting there with my Anakins arm in my hand and reading that saying "what the f-?" Now with the New Hope Leia even their proto's look sub par.

Well I have recently decided that I am done with SSC Star wars line. Canceled my exclusive assaj, plo, bousche leia, rebel trooper. The whole line pretty much. The only Sideshow SW figures I may still get is if they make some main characters that look good, like maybe a lando or something....but thats a long shot. Now I have an excuse to get a medicom vader :speederbike
