Re: Takara Kerberos review

Not really sure putting in storage would help. I used to bave a bunch of Bit-Charge mini R/C cars with soft rubber tires just like these rubber pipes. Placed them in storage after not playing them. Months later, all the tires cracked and splited, just like the pipes on Kerberos. And soft rubber cracking is so common among toys anyway. And same thing happen to my bike when my mom had it exposed to sunlight in my garage. Some of the rubber parts all cracked and dried. They crack pretty much when they start drying up and lose the elasticity, so the particles can't hold on to each other anymore.

So my suggestion would be, rather than putting the figures in storage, find some rubber moisturizer/protectant (I use Armor-All) on the soft rubber parts, before they show signs of aging. It might keep them 'alive' longer.

I've 'unbuckled' the hoses for now mpchi. I'm not sure if armor all is good for a plastic protectant, after a while when I used to use it on my car, I would notice my dash fades a bit.

This is quite worrying, Mines been in his box for the last few months, had him displayed for about 8 months before that, I'll have to get him out and see how he's holding up.

Ok after hearing about these horrid accounts I checked mine which has been displayed but never in the sun and it looks like they are starting to die. emoticon

Here you can see the small cracks. emoticon

When I bend the tube a bit it seems like the problem shows up worse than I thought. It looks as if in the gaps between the rubbers "melting". emoticon emoticon

Once again I'll like to point out my climate is cold atm. Its definitely not heat. emoticon

Yup. That is exactly what happened to mine, except mine got torn even more. Climate is good here too, and I take good care of my figures. So pretty sure its the material's issue.

Got mine out of the loft last night to check over and luckily he's as good as new. This is very worrying though and it certainly can'be isolated if at least two people have the same problem.
Mine was displayed in my dining room for about 8 months and has been in storage ever since, got my female Kerberos and Takara Batman out as well to check over and both seemed fine.

took a couple of pics-

Mine has been displayed since the figure came out and yes the hoses are ripping, strangely in perfect links of 2. I tried to glue the big [sign in to see URL].

My Midori figure has been displayed for the same amount of time, no change in the hoses. They are a different rubber.
