This link is like an early Christmas present JTR
The likeness isn't quite 100% but it's damn good and I'm very tempted to get this depending on the price. Bring on the first pics of the "Genesis Of The Daleks" statue.

Re: Weta get Doctor Who
If I get anything from this line it'll be the new series stuff, I'm very tempted by that Dalek statue, if they make an Ood I'll be sold

Yeah the Dalek looks pretty cool and I'd certainly be intrested in an Ood staue were they to make one. With the return of the Ood in series 4 there's a good chance that we'll see more merchandise, particularly if there's new types to go with the basic "worker" we saw in The Impossible Planet/Satan Pit.

Re: Weta get Doctor Who
If you haven't already seen this I thought it might interest you BCM, it's a statue of Tom Baker's Doctor battling Davros, part of the Weta classic series.

Re: Weta get Doctor Who
Thanks for the link JTR,in the absence of any new Character Options pics from Toy Fair it's more than welcome
Overall it's another great piece from Weta but I'm somewhat disappointed at the pose that was chosen as whilst screen accurate the Doctor's expression is a bit too "extreme" for my liking and unless I can get a look at one in person before buying I'll pass.
Of the 4 statues Weta have revealed so far I think the Dalek is the one I'm most likely to get and I'm intrested to see what else they can come up with,a statue of the Beast rising from the pit with a miniature Doctor standing by the urns would be a surefire way to ensure Weta got my full attention

Re: Weta get Doctor Who
Only the new series stuff interests me, but to be honest I'm not a big statue collector as I tend to find them too expensive and they take up too much room.
Still like to look at them though and both the Dalek and Cybercontroller are decent pieces but I wish they'd made a Cyberman rather than the Cybercontroller.
I'd have been more tempted by that

At present I don't have any statues in my collection for similar reasons but some of the Doctor Who ones look so nice that I'm going to make the exception, particularly as there's not many 1/6 figures that I want being released in the coming months. On the subject of Cybermen JTR did you get the PM I sent you a while ago about the 3 Doctor Who mini busts being reduced to £9.99 at FP?

Re: Weta get Doctor Who
Yeah sorry I didn't reply, I think I read it and then got interrupted by something and forgot to go back to it, that's a pretty good deal.
I saw them for sale for the same price at a Model shop in Meadowhall shopping centre not so long ago, I was tempted but haven't picked them up yet.
I remember they were going to make Ninth and Tenth Doctor busts as well along with Rose from the end of series two, don't know if they're still on the cards though.

I also saw the protos for the other 3 mini busts too but nothing since so I'm assuming they got cancelled.
FP have the Cyber Controller & Dalek statues up for order at £139.99 and £149.99 respectively which is about what I expected them to be.

Re: Weta get Doctor Who
Actually they're not bad prices, I'd have thought they might've ended up being around the £200 mark given how intricate the statues are.
Plus everyone's buying Who merchandise at the moment which is as good an excuse as any for FPI to raise the price of the statues.
