Re: Sideshow Bespin Luke
So what is the general consensus on the Bespin Luke figure? Good? Bad?
I would like to know since I was thinking about picking him up. If not then I'll use my money to pick up a SS Darth Maul on Ebay. I've always wanted a sith to go with my Medi Luke. I pre-ordered the Medi Maul but I would like the SS one also, for comparison. I think it looks quite good actually.

Re: Sideshow Bespin Luke
This is my all time favorite version of Luke. I repainted mine, tightened his belt then shrank and dirtied up his duds.

Re: Sideshow Bespin Luke
just got mine todya I think it overall looks better then the prototype. I gave up trying to get his stump on so I could pose him next to my Vader with his hand cut off. That thing just wont go on.

Re: Sideshow Bespin Luke
I haven't even tried to get his stump on but I had a heck of a time getting his other hands on and off. It was such a pain that I took a nail file to the pegs in his wrists to make them smaller. That really helped.

i can't get over how much this repaint improves the look of the figure. it's a perfect bespin luke. just goes to show that sideshow has some really talented sculptors. if only the factory paint apps could be improved a little. but saying that, old ben looks pretty good.
if i could paint like ccb, i'd be buying far more sideshow figs to paint myself. at that price you don't feel so bad painting over the factory heads either. i wouldn't have the balls to do it to my HT or medi figs!!

Re: Sideshow Bespin Luke
Sideshow wrists are designed to Be very moble, and TO keep the hands on there tightly, the best way to get their hands to swap is to hit them with a hairdryer for a few seconds, or dip them into boiling water. the hands are a vinyl-like plastic, it softens up tremendously under heat, and will then pop with off, or on with ease.

Re: Sideshow Bespin Luke
Like many other SSC figures Bespin Luke looks a hell of a lot better with a decent paintjob on the head and some work done to the attire but I still maintain that something that costs $50-$60 plus shipping (more if outside the US) should look better straight out of the box. Maybe if SSC took more time over releasing each figure this could be remedied somewhat,Medicom and HT don't rush their figures and as a result the production pieces are usually very, very close or identical to the protos.
