Death Note Manga vs. Movies **SPOILERS**

Ok, I've finished reading the Manga through volume 9 and knew I was past the 'L' arc, so I watched the two live action movies. I liked them quite a lot, but curious why they would end them the way they did instead of leaving it open for a third movie based on the remaining manga?

I kinda like L's death in the movie more than the manga, because he sorta of beat Light even though he died.

I understood and didn't have a problem with them replacing The Eight with the woman journalist to simplify the story, but like many, didn't really like the addition of the girlfriend. Also, I wish Misa had been blond!

Anyway, what do you guys think of the live action movies? Which do you like best... the manga, anime or movies?

Re: Death Note Manga vs. Movies **SPOILERS**

Well, I guess one reason they kept it at 2 movies is cos after L's death, the story kinda went down hill.

In my own opinion, Near & Mello are in no way as intriguing & charming as L. Alot of Deathnote fans I know, just didn't like them and some even stopped reading after L's death.

About the movie, Death Note 1 was kinda slow and boring, the pacing wasnt very well done. But I like how some parts of the story are different from the manga, proves that the story writer bothered to do something different.

Death note 2 was much much better as compared to death note 1. It kept me glued to my seat in the cinema....Death Note 1 made me sleepy....hehe

Actually, I like the fact that Misa wasnt a blond in the movie version. She seems smarter and more cunning too, as compared to the manga where in the later part of the story, her character sort of become more like a blond bimbo.

As for which version I like best....I think it has to be the manga. Afterall, it is the orignal story and how deathnote was meant to be. I have re-read the manga a few times already and it still hasnt lost its magic.

The anime isnt really different from the manga, but the inclusion of its BGM & great animation made the experience of watching Death Note even better.

Movie - I like it mainly becos of the cast.
not forgetting we get some really cute girls(light's sis Sayu Yagami is soooo cute) :P hehe....Also, the fact that Light die in such a way that isnt as pathetic as he died in the manga.
