Re: Nobody Seeing Any DVD's Lately

Watched "The Good The Bad The Wierd" I though it had its' moments, but it could have used better editing/pacing. I felt like they had to show everything they filmed and a lot of sequences where just too long. Cinematography was really nice.

Agree with you, Mr. McHaley. The Bad was the actor who played Storm Shadow in GI Joe. The actor who plays the Weird is in quite a few Korean movies too. Thought he did a great job in his role.

I got Hanna and 13 Assassins on Blu Ray today, I've heard good things about them. Will let you guys know!

Hanna was a very good action art film... Plot was a bit thin, but I really enjoyed the movie overall. It had a Grimm's fairytale feel to it. Also of note, Chemical Bros. did the soundtrack. emoticon

13 Assassins was kind of meh. Don't want to give too much away, but the beginning, middle were good, the big final battle was nearly half the movie and that was only so-so... CG burning oxen looked fake and the fight scene at the end was sorta boring. And what was up with that guy they found in the woods? Was he a supernatural ninja or some kind of demon? Take away those elements and would have been a way more satisfying movie, imho.

I just watched Hanna the other night and I really liked it. Though it was completely predictable. Still, the editing and the soundtrack more than made up for it.

Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil is a pretty damn good little movie. Bought it at random at bestbuy the other day without ever having heard anything about it and it was totally worth it. Its a spoof on the red neck/inbred killers in the woods horror genre in which a group of college kids on a vacation in the woods mistake a couple guys as redneck serial killers - hilarity and death ensue. Very good flick, go check it out.

It was supposed to be his spirit. And [sign in to see URL] was confusing as it was inconsistent with the rest of the film. After the beginning it lost it's way.

While this isn't a DVD, I did stumble across this short film on Youtube yesterday and really enjoyed it, so I decided to share

I've had Looper in the collection for a while and only found time to watch it last night. It was merely okay for me. Others may like it more...

I loooooved Looper.

I've been trying to come up with a decent idea for a novel haunting/ghost related novel for awhile now so I've been checking out scary movies more lately. I rented Sinister. Set up is good, starts off really intriguing and then becomes a complete and utter disappointment. I was hoping for a really cool take on the Paranormal Activity style movies (I hate that series however). Anyone have any good ghost movie/haunting movie suggestions for me?
