Re: First wave of the Transformers Henkei figs are out
Got my Hasbro Ratchet today, to join with Prime, Hound, and Inferno. Decided to skip Sideswipe, Hot Shot and Smokescreen. Smokescreen looks nice, but I have Prowl already.

I got Henkei Ratchet a couple of weeks back and wasn't too impressed.
The SUV alt mode doesn't really work as an ambulance and the white coloring may be G1 accurate but it just highlights the hacked up look of the alt mode and IMO they should have made it a search and rescue vehicle like Movie Ratchet.
The robot mode is OK but it's a bit daft that a medic figure doesn't include any tools and just has the same weapon as Ironhide.
Kaido,
How's Inferno?

BCM, I haven't opened Hound, Inferno, or Ratchet and I don't know if I ever will; I think they are part of my MIB collection, (at least for now).
I am disappointed to hear your thoughts about Ratchet, I thought he looked great in Robot mode though, those red hands really looked great! I never bought Ironhide.

Consider opening Hound or get a 2nd one if you can 'cos he's f'ing awesome, one of the best in the entire line IMO.
It's not so much the robot modes of the Ironhide/Ratchet mold that bothers me,I just think the alt mode wasn't very well designed compared to something like the Sideswipe/Sunstreaker/Red Alert mold.
All TF's have areas where it's obvious parts are joined together but Ironhide and Ratchet kind of overdoes it.
From the front & back it looks fine but the sides look like someone's been down it with a chainsaw and roughly stuck it back together and those painted on side windows look awful no matter which color they are.
I have come up with a solution for Ironhide though and a buddy is currently repainting him for me in a new colour scheme which as yet nobody on any of the custom TF forums has tried plus a few other modifications that I've come up with. I'll post some pics when it's finished.

I know what you mean re: the unsightly lines. I really like the Henkei Optimus as well, especially in Robot mode, just one of my faves. Solid construction, dynamic poses, it's great.

Henkei Prime rocks and when Fansproject's trailer is done it'll be the perfect upgrade.

One of two things and as I want the trailer so much I think I'll be taking the option that involves lubrication
