Re: Any further news on VCD Wicket?
Read the review, wow...2 stars?
Even the SS superfan the Josh, felt Michael was being too harsh on Wicket.
comparing it to a $15 mcfarlane figure?
Correct me if Im wrong, but isnt Vinyl more expensive to produce than a standard mcfarlane plastic/pvc figure?
Also, I think he titles it wrongly as Wicket the Ewok Action figure. When Medicom already advertised it as a Vinyl Collectible Doll......since when did they say that Wicket was going to be an action figure with articulation???

Exactly! The VCD's aren't meant to be as articulated as an RAH and besides Wicket didn't exactly do any Darth Maul style extreme poses to begin with.
I like some of Michael's reviews but his bias towards SSC is getting a bit transparent.
I'm not saying every Medicom figure he reviews should be praised no matter what but if the price and scale are still a major issue when it's been clear for some time that Medicom aren't going to change these things then why bother reviewing them in the first place?

Re: Any further news on VCD Wicket?
I think you just don't look at the overall score (since he factors in things like price & value, etc), but only look at the detailed individual breakdowns to give an idea how good the figure is. He lists pros and cons (he liked Wicket's hood), so I think that helps a lot.
I understand where he's coming from, his site covers for a large more "mainstream" population, and hard for him to justify telling everyone to run out and buy a $60 Wicket when the next review is about $7 Wall-E figures.
I still enjoy MWC!

Re: Any further news on VCD Wicket?
To be fair, I've always enjoyed Michael's review, even reading on those toy reviews that I would never buy.
For this review, I just find it weird or should I say unfair that he reviewed articulation on a VCD figure which by nature of the toyline, wasnt meant to have any articulation. Also another fact is, Medicom didnt market Wicket as a 1/6 scale figure. Nothing on their website says that, nothing on the packaging says that. Knocking points off the scale issue, seems unfair.
I do agree on the other points, like price and accessories could have been improved.

Re: Any further news on VCD Wicket?
Being part of the "vinyl collectible dolls" line, it's supposed to be pricey for whatever reason. It's not fair to compare Wicket to regular 1/6 scale figures anyway. It seems the reviewer had his mind made up already.

Re: Any further news on VCD Wicket?

Who cares what critics say anyway, it's one person's opinion. If you like it, I say go for it!
