posticon Display cabinets for collection

My new display cabinets arrived today. :st 2 of them are on a wall and 3 on the opposite wall (they are joined together so thus they look like being only a smaller curio and a larger one). Each of the separate curios is about 2 meters tall and about 1 meter wide. The depth and distance between shelves is about 35 cm in both cases. I included the Gentle Giant ROTS Vader bust for you to see how it looks like displayed inside:

VERY nice! Are they custom?

How about lighting? Any plans to install lights or spotlights?

Looks like you'll have a lot of fun filling them up!

Re: Display cabinets for collection

They are custom made by a local company which works with German and Dutch materials. Total cost was about $800. They can be in any color you want, but I preferred this natural wooden look.

Due to some problems that occured, I might have to move in the new house only in 2009, but I'm glad the cabinets arrived. Some of the collectibles will be displayed there though, even if I'm not going to live there for now.

As for the curio dimensions here they are:

Width: 96 cm - 37.7"
Height: 37 cm - 14.5"
Depth: 30 cm - 11.8"

The width is calculated for 1 curio (with double glass doors) to see all the curios together you have to consider that there are 3 curios joined together on the right side of the room and 2 on the left. Height is calculated only for 1 shelf, to see total add all 5 shelves.

And a comparison with Ikea's Detolf:

Width: 43 cm - 16 3/4"
Depth: 37 cm - 14 3/8"
Height: 163 cm - 64 1/8"

Thanks! Can't wait to get them filled up :eatdrink

A picture with some of the figures displayed there. These anime figures plus 13" Batman (by Mattel), Quake 2 figures and GG Vader mini-bust will be the only items displayed in the new cabinets until I'm moving there next year when my whole collection will come with me there.

Thanks gatackfc! Two more pics of the room with the 2 new cabinets. I have a few items displayed in there and will remain like this until I move and then all my collection will be added. The large cabinet will be for the Star Wars collection and the smaller one for anime toys and Terminator, Predator, Batman etc.
