So quiet in here...

lol

V for Vendetta has been on clearance recently, I just bought mine from Cornerstore comics for $60. When the figure comes in, I'll post some thoughts, maybe some pics. You can apparently do a HT Truetype bodyswap, so I'll look into that as well.

Re: DCD 13" V, V for Vendetta

I got my V today and it's a pretty nice figure. Of course, it's not up to HT's standards, but still pretty good.

V's bulky sleeves and trying to get them to tuck into the glove is the most frustrating part of the figure. Paint apps on the face are okay, upon close scrutiny, it is a little bit sloppy but not a deal breaker.

He comes with a decent amount of accessories including a nicely tailored cloth cape, plastic hat (slightly scuffed), a conductor's wand, 6 knives (made of a slightly bendy plastic, shame), a rose, and several sets of hands.

The figure's upper body is nice and tight, but articulation is obviously limited when compared to a TT. His hip joints are a little bit loose, but overall he can hold a standing pose quite well. Putting him in a stance however will lead to problems as he has these jack boots which limit the ankle articulation. These boots also make his calves look fat (never say that to your wife or girlfriend).

From my research, some people have changed his hair, and swapped the body for a Truetype. However, I think the quest to improve this figure is possibly more trouble than it is worth and will just lead to more headaches & expense as you'll need to do a neck mod and then buy a better pair of boots, and then perhaps buy gloves that will fit the TT's pegs (these gloves are not easily compatible, the holes are too big), etc.

Then after buying all that stuff and spending more than the $60 the figure costs, in the end, you'll probably just pose the figure standing in a neutral position in your Detolf anyway (see, I learned all this the hard way with my Equilibrium Christian Bale custom).

Instead, my advice would be to just enjoy the figure for what it is: a $60 1/6 figure that does a fair job representing the character in the movie.

Given the price, 4 out of 5 stars.
