Re: Transformers Movie toys
The new Prime and Starscream molds are great improvements on the originals and Ironhide and Bumblebee have got some neat upgrades but the question I have to ask is,
WTF is it with Hasbro and the color grey ?
Ironhide looks by far the worst but the one that annoys me most is Leader Class Optimus Prime.
It's supposed to be a top of the line toy and is one of the best designed molds ever yet it looks more like a knockoff because of all that unpainted grey plastic on the areas that should be a shiny chrome or at least a basic silver.
And the bendy smokestacks and unarticulated hands are actually a step backwards from the first version.
I can understand the need for cutting production costs to a certain degree but it just looks like they can't be bothered and that's what I'm feeling about many of the toys,at least until they hit clearance.

Re: Transformers Movie toys
Those CG shots make me wish someone would do some action figures.
And I don't mean like Hasbro's. Though they do look better than the first.
I want someone who would put their all into them.

Re: Transformers Movie toys
Those CGI renders are excellent,I never thought I'd say this about a Bayformer but I think Ravage makes the G1 design look crap and I hope he gets a Deluxe toy.
It's too bad that so many sacrifices have to be made for the toys as even the newest Starscream doesn't look all that accurate in robot mode but I suppose that's one of the drawbacks of having such over complicated designs for the robots, some of them just don't translate from CGI model into mass market toys very well.
