Kotobukiya ArtFX Devil May Cry statues

I decided to get these, primarily because there are no 1/6th figures. Also cause after MGS, DMC is my favorite game series. Vergil just edges out Dante as my number 1 for DMC, so I ordered his statue first. Got it for $84USD shipped. BBTS has DMC4 Dante on clearance right now so considering grabbing him up since I will most likely collect all 4 statues.

This will be my first statue so I'd like to see it in hand or get an informed feedback on them before buying more of them

I got two of these statues. As they are my first ones, I must say I was presently suprised at cool they are. Kotobukiya's reputation is well deserved as these are awesome statue pieces. They come with cool weapons that are recognizable to any DMC fan. A nice touch is that they can hold each others weapons. I plan to add Dante Version1 & Nero later to complete the set.

However, there a few minor nitpicks. First is that while for the most part the paint app is excellent, on each figure there was a small trouble spot. Again not too annoying as you'd only notice it if you were really looking. Second was that the likeness is just a bit off. Again, understandable as its a video game so you have to ball park a bit.

Also, they're a bit smaller than I expected, Vergil is abt 9inches tall I would guess. So all in all, if you can get these for $80 or less range, I couldnt imagine you'd be disappointed with your purchase with the understanding that these are statues & lack that certain "je ne sais qwa" of articulation figures.

Some pics, sorry for the quality. I've got a nice DSLR on my radar for next year, till then its the ol camera phone.

I have all the games, even the Xbox360 one, but I haven't even finished part 1 on the PS2. Haven't touched any of the others!

Cool, you should def play through em, the story is awesome. You can technically skip DMC2, as its story isnt really tied to 1,3 & 4 directly. For DMC3, track down a copy the "Special Edition" greatest hits, it lets you play as Vergil, so you can really see just how badass he is.

If time is an obstacle, just play on easy mode lol. Its what I do, as I play games to see the story & not for secrets & hidden stuffs. Plus otherwise Id never finish any games, as they're very time consuming & I cant devote days on end to playing

I do have the Greatest Hits Special Edition of DMC 3. And DMC 4, actually!

I'm really bad with the games. I read reviews, get caught up with the hype, buy them and either never play them or don't finish. I realized I don't have time when I couldn't even finish my beloved RE5...

Ha ha, I know what you mean. I'm exactly the same way. I have stacks of unopened games to play. MGS & DMC are the only ones I make sure to play through when they come out, the rest go into the "I'll get to it one day pile" lol.

I guess Im just a collector at heart & more collect the games than really play them

Like you, I collect the games. If it is a good review, I will likely buy it (usually when the price comes down). My collection of Get to it One Day games is nearly 100 games and goes back to the PSOne days. Amongst them are the MGS games, FF games, man, you name it I prolly have it and have not played it!

Yea, the pile keeps growing, lol. this year alone, RE5 got added (to go with RE4), just added Infamous, will be adding Prototype as well. Assassins Creed 2 is this fall & my LE first one is still in the shrink wrap, lol.

MGS & DMC are must plays for me tho, the stories are just so cool. Im hopeful DMC 5 is announced at E3 this week. Havent heard anything so I doubt it will be. I want the return of Vergil, so he can take his Yamato from Nero, lol
