If you're a One Piece fan, you're about to get really broke! A ton of figures for the franchise just got announced:
NOV:
Blackbeard
Shanks
Monkey D. Luffy
DEC:
Boa Hancock
Whitebeard
Bandai appears to have renamed this line "Figuarts Zero."

Re: SH Figuarts - Dragonball, One Piece, Apocalypse Zero, Ultraman, etc.
Allright...I got the Ultra-ACT dude...and like KYQ said, I'm slightly disapointed. Still a cool figure, but nowhere near as cool as the Masked Rider versions..I don't know whether bandai's to blame or ultraman's design.
I'm guessing his one piece, smooth-lack-of-details-rubber suit design is too blame. Since ultraman's designs are rather simple, the joints stand out a lot more. Whereas Kamen Riders have belts, kneepads, shoulder pads and etc. Any little paint smudge will stick out like a sore thumb on ultraman. Over all, I think they did just ok job given the subject matter.
He's quite a bit bigger than the S.H. Figuarts though..even larger than Kuuga Ultimate. What's strange is the choice of material used. As KYQ mentioned, he feels rubbery. They probably used PVC as opposed to ABS. And no metal feet either.
Even though I like this guy alot, he's still no where near as cool as his Kamen Rider cousins (atleast Figuarts form). For some strange reason, even though he's all molded in red, his neck piece is slightly pinkish compared to the rest of his red.
I also wish the blue bits that came with him (chest plug, rays and sawblade) were a little more transpartent like in the promo pics.
At the end, I still can't wait for the other Ultra Act figures. I'm sure a 2nd better version of classic ultraman will one day show up.

Thanks for the update, Zwyer! I think mine is at the post office right now, I will prolly go tomorrow to pick it up. I'll let you know my thoughts too, but you're right about the streamlined suit.
Nice to know his scale is larger... they were so much more expensive that a Figuart, I was wondering what was up with that...

Re: SH Figuarts - Dragonball, One Piece, Apocalypse Zero, Ultraman, etc.
yeah..I was especially shocked by Gomora. Now I know why. That dude is gonna be huge!! Further updates...most of my joints were SUPER loose!! Especially his hip joint. He couldn't hold the "flying pose" and kept flopping over..like he's about to dive into the pool or something. The same goes for his ball joint thighs. But the good news is, the superglue/joint tightening method works very, very well with this figure.
Now he can hold his poses much better.

Re: SH Figuarts - Dragonball, One Piece, Apocalypse Zero, Ultraman, etc.
Ultraman came today (along with a bunch of other goodies). My first thought was Ultraman? More like Ultra-crap!! Simply put, the Ultra Act line is a cheap ass knock off version of the SH Figuarts line. As mentioned by KYQ and Zwyer, the figure feels light, and cheap. Joints initially felt loose and flimsy. My figure was in two pieces with a touch! I popped him back in at the waist and he still kept coming apart when you wiggle his waist a bit. I couldn't friggin' believe this was made by Bandai at first, as they usually make good stuff. Then out of frustration, I really shoved him in and he stayed together fine.
I've got wiggly joints at the elbows (the joints themselves are tight, but they just wiggle a bit) and the red paint is just horribly mismatched, the neck is a different shade from the chest which is a different shade from the head, etc. The figure is growing on me I'm happy to say, but this really feels like a cheap ass toy. It could have been so much better.
I'd give it a grade of 3 out of 5 I guess. Maybe 3.5 out of 5 if you're a fan of Ultraman.

Re: SH Figuarts - Dragonball, One Piece, Apocalypse Zero, Ultraman, etc.
Sounds like they need to improbe the QC on the ultra Act figures.
Actually I realised that the recent Kamen Rider Gills that I bought did not have any metal feet as well. I hope this is not a sign of them cheapening on materials for future SHF Kamen Riders.

Gills is still an awesome figure! But yes, Ultraman still has major QC issues. I did the crazy glue trick on the hip to thigh joints, things are much better now.
