Re: Enterbay Bruce Lee 70th Anniversary Real Masterpiece

Keanu might have had training for months but it won't beat someone whos had real training for years, eg. Cung Le, Donnie Yen. emoticon
You'll notice the difference in the quality of the moves.
In fact, wouldn't it be better if they use these two for Green Hornet and Kato, respectively. emoticon

Cung Le's trademark back kicks:

Now watch Keanu as Neo in Matrix:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zIJCpUqeb4
(He kicks like when I'm posing a 1/6 figure,ie. his legs look like a puppet's.)

I've seen those behind the scenes of The Matrix. The reason Neo's kicks look so !@#$ is because his legs are held up by wires. Without those, he can't do it. He's not gonna be able to be flexible and strong from months of training. This isn't Dragonballz Evolution(*hint: Goku) or The Forbidden Kingdom. emoticon
Sorry, dont mean to offend any Matrix fan. Matrix 1 is still one of my top 10 favourite movies.

lolz...point taken but lets be realistic, for Keanu it was as convincing as he could get for those few months of training, u can't compare him to real martial artistes, who have been kicking asses their whole lives.

Forbidden Kingdom is another crap show which I never understood why Jackie Chan & Jet Li agreed to film it.

Yeah Forbidden Kingdom was disappointing, I mean they had Jet Li & Jackie Chan. How can they go wrong right? emoticon

I read somewhere while Jay Chou was still new in the pop scene that he already studied Wu Shu, although I don't know how reliable the source was. He also did a short action film, probably to showcase some of his fighting skills with his terrible acting haha.

Here is the short film I was talking about:

Donnie Yen's little sister is in there too.

Anyways, I think Jay Chou is alot better than stiff-neck Keanu Reeves in terms of fighting, but I'm not saying that Jay Chou is the greatest.

Ahh that Double Blade MV. IMO it's full of himself, just like in all his other craptacular kung-fu inspired music clips.

You should check out his latest movie: The Treasure Hunter.
You have Jay + the no.1 model in Taiwan in a story that is Indian Jones x World of Warcraft. emoticon
He's also got another martial arts movie coming out this month called True Legend.
Can't really stand this guy. In Asia, no one really considers him an action star at all. emoticon

Heh, with good film editing techniques and fast cuts, even Matt Damon looks like a superstar. As long as the action looks good, I don't care who is behind the mask I guess!

As for Hollywood mixed with Asian actors, I can't think of any good Hollywood movies featuring Chow Yun Fat, Donnie Yen, Jet Li, Jackie Chan which had them as the main character. I thought there was hope when I watched Lethal Weapon 4, but sadly it seems that Chinese actors will continue to star in buddy comedies or play good supporting cast roles or star in b-grade movies.

IMO, these were alright:

Jackie Chan - Rush Hour 1
Jet Li - Romeo Must Die
Chow Yun Fat - Replacement Killers
Donnie Yen umm... none yet.

IMO - Hate to say it, but pure Asian men do not appeal to the general world-wide audience beyond fighting movies. I say 'pure', because mixed Asians on the other hand, are wildly popular.

In terms of marketability, Asian men are quite low on the totem in comparison to most other types.
