Re: kotobukiya Playarts

OMG OMG OMG!!!

Earlier this week, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto posted a Tweet at the Square Enix Members Twitter account promising a "little surprise" for this week. That surprise was revealed today at Konami's Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker completion ceremony.

Konami has drafted Square Enix to develop Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker figures. The figures will be released under Square Enix's Play Arts line and formally known as "Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Play Arts Kai."

The first figure in the collection is "Snake Sneaking Suits Version." This will arrive in June.

This summer, the lineup will get three boss machines. Later in the year, between summer and fall, the lineup will see figures for Snake in army fatigues and the giant Cocoon boss.

Play Arts Kai figures are usually $40 each... kinda expensive... but looks like I got no choice this time.

I agree on playarts being expensive and their QC can be kinda bad at times.

Maybe I will cave in and get them [sign in to see URL] wait for more official pics.

I visited the US today and they actually had the Final Fantasy XIII figures there. They don't look too bad and they are very tall, going from memory, they are about 7 or 8 inches tall if I'm not mistaken.

Anyway, placed my preorder on Snake today with AmiAmi.

Whoa, huge! I'm starting to understand the price point a bit more now, they are big figures with a ton of detail.

MGS figures still haven't sold out; the RE5 Chris and Sheva figures sold out in a flash. Leads me to believe they are going to make a bajillion Snakes, I hope the QC will be able to hold up.

not bajilion lol.. looks like 4 suits

Naked Snake - Moves fast and carries more items at the cost of stealth, defense.
Jungle Fatigues Snake - A balance of stealth, defense, weapons and inventory.
Stealth Suit Snake - Allows one to make no noise when running opposed to the usual racket.
Battle Dress Snake - Allows one to carry an additional firearm and take significantly less damage, but at the cost of less items slow movement speed, and low camouflage.

Thanks for the Snake link, the shield is a nice surprise. I ordered mine already. Wish he came with more guns though! A knife would have been nice to have too. emoticon

Btw, does Elljay like the figure? What's he saying in his review?
