Re: Problem with your Hot Toys figure? Ask Dr.Beast X !

I just checked the prices at the post office to sent back the entire figure. About $16... I'm not going to send back a figure and spend $16 for the replacement of a piece that most likely will only cost a few cents... I asked them to send me any type of arm they had laying around. Not the best solution, but the arm is covered by cloths anyway, and I just need a functioning arm. Let's hope they can do that for me.

Actually I just repaired a broken arm at that position too.

It's fairly easy, depending on how well the upper arms are glued. Hot water may help it cracking the glue bonding in splitting the upper arm/biceps open.

Fabricate a backing at the side where the break [sign in to see URL] the upper arm with the arm assembled...

I wish I had your fingers for this Beast X! emoticon You make it sound so easy!
I managed to detach the shoulder part (the ball which should be attached to the biceps) without much hassle! Now, let's hope 3A sends me an replacement arm, and then I can just attach the new arm back to the body! That will be quite a challenge already! emoticon

Fully clothed non-exposed arm?... you could actually transfer the shoulder and upper arm of a standard TT and reuse the elbow joint and forearm.

uuuuhhhhh... forgot about the forearm BeastX... yes that would be exposed. Now, when I just figured out how to detach the arm from 'shoulder ball', I realize, that it won't be easy attaching a new arm at that point. So, I have to do it from the shoulder anyway? Now I have to figure out how to detach the shoulder from the body.

^ If it's like TT... 2 screws inside the shoulders (that allows up/down/foward/backward motion) holds the circular pin/cylinder that allows the arm to rotate.

Just pull the shoulder foward and you'll have access to the screws.

I did a lot of arm transfers (transplatation) this way..

or you can di-sassemble the whole torso... to remove these... (velocx's pic)

Thank you BeastX. I'll have a look at the figure today to see how I attack this best. Might need a shoulder too, and, I hope 3A will send me a complete arm.

I had a look at the shoulder, and, it is fairly easy to undo, like you said. Thanks for the help!

forgot to update:
3A insisted I send the figure, and that they didn't have any replacement parts for DIY figures. In the end, I sent them the complete arm, 'cause they wanted to repair it. I did sent the arm, and to my surprise, they fixed it in a way that I can't tell it's been damaged! Remarkable. The only nitpick I have, is that the shoulder on this replacement arm is a bit loose. Still, I'm happy. Cost me only about $5 in the end. My DIY Grunt is in great shape, Now, let's see if I ever will actually DO something with it. emoticon Design wise I mean. Even after years, all my ThreeA DIY's are still vestal.

Thx again for the assistance BeastX.

Trying to upgrade the old Dragon Body to new Truetype but notice most recent bodies (Tried the Oldest truetype muscle & Platoon bodies) are too big the pants cannot fit in. Older slim Truetypes are hard to find and expensive, any good options out there?
