Crap. Now I feel like an d!ck for talking about your missing the Blind Cowboy drop so lightly, cub3k. 'Wish I had checked this thread sooner. I'm so sorry about your father-in-law. 'Thoughts go out to your family and if you have an enlightened breakthrough, be sure to fill us in upon your return. Who knows, maybe our crew can cover you for the Cowboy until you get back.

Damn. You're probably offline already. Man, my timing sucks. emoticon

Whoops. I already forgot that this is the "cutting back on toys" thread. Here I am trying to figure out how to get you another figure. emoticon

Re: Breaking the addiction - Cutting back on toys discussion

Saw this thread and wanted to put my two cents worth. Though I don't have any Hot Toys figures and have now just recently put my money down for RAH BRS. I suffered from the nendoroid - figma bug. Nendoroids are the biggest drain on my wallet. If there was a nendo announced based on a character I loved, I'd almost always impulse preorder it just to later regret it. emoticon

So what I've done to combat this was by starting a spreadsheet for the preorders I have so that I can better visualize how much I'm spending. The basic idea of this being "oh I'm spending $120 in August ... time to cut back any more purchases". This has tremendously helped with my preordering decisions with these latest batch of nendoroid/figma announcements where I put a strict limit of $100 a month.

In anycase, those are my small words of wisdom. Hope it helps! emoticon

donpablo, I've tried to do that before and I'm still trying to do something like that, but my budget is $500/month. I failed in July, but hopefully will be able to do it in August. Though, I know I have already blown half of it already on upcoming 3A figures.

I used to keep a spreadsheet [sign in to see URL] 1 day, I got tired of keeping track of my orders.

Yeah, so plan [sign in to see URL] I have to say it was more useful for me when I decided to sell the toy, I can look back n see whether I made a profit or a [sign in to see URL] it never did help me to curb my spending.

haha oh man, well I guess at the end of the day its down to sheer will power and asking your wallet "Sir, can I have some more?" emoticon

It's soo easy to say "oh I can fit another purchase" or "meh its only 15 bucks" but it really~ adds up at the end of the day. I mean sure I don't spend my cash at Starbucks but whats the point when a half hour later I'm getting excited about the new figure release. emoticon

It helps in a way that my buying habits have widdled down to mainly nendoroids and the random figma. If I had kept buying like I did when I first started collecting. I'd have been buried in stuff. Let's just hope that my entry into RAH BRS doesn't start me on another line --- oh, RAH White Rock Shooter just announced. Uh-Oh emoticon ... emoticon

Yeah, I hear ya donpablo! I won't buy a blu-ray because it's $[sign in to see URL] more at a particular store, but I have almost no hesitation dropping $50 on an SH Figuart (factoring in shipping)... that's totally weird! emoticon

As for buried in stuff, there's a reason I don't show pics of my collection... it's very disorganized and messy; freakin' embarrassing and starting to feel like an episode of "Hoarders."

[sign in to see URL] can probably do 2 episodes of it. One at your place & 1 at mine.

Ok,taking my first step into cutting back on toys by selling them off slowly one by one.
First to go are my Hot Toys Original Predator & Major Alan Dutch.

If you knw any1 that wants them, do point them to the right direction
