Batman: Year One

Hi folks!

Here's a new animated DVD coming out soon. My fiance directed/produced it along with Bruce Timm. I did a large portion of the storyboards for it.

We're extremely proud of this one. Its based off the graphic [sign in to see URL] pretty much inspired Nolan's Batman Begins (he took A LOT of the sequences you see in both movies from this book).

We did our best to stay true to Macizelli's art work and Miller's writing.

Probably one of the best ones yet!

I saw the trailer & have to say it reminded me a lot about reading the book.

The art Style & animation all look pretty top notch! I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

Please send my regards to you & your colleagues for a great job done! emoticon

I will definitely be adding it to my blu-ray collection, Zwyer. I'm sure it will kick mucho ass. I have read Year One many times and it's still by far the top Batman story for me (sadly).

I will also add that a lot of the best Batman stories these days are coming out of the animations. The "Joe Madureira" Batman animation had some awesome episodes in the later seasons. "Batman Under the Red Hood".
kicked all kinds of butt.

WB's DC animations totally blow Marvel out of the water, imho. The recent Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four shows were good, but don't stand up to WB's story telling and production values.

[sign in to see URL] agree, very good transition from Comic book to Animation.

I just finished re-reading Batman Year One, gonna pick the Blu-Ray up, probably next month or so.

I wonder if I've read Year One too many times to get too excited by this... kind of like Sin City, I read it so many times that the movie was only so-so to me because it followed so closely. For those who have never read Year One, I think they will be in for a huge treat. emoticon

Kaido, I can totally see that. emoticon Its not an action flick as more of an origin/self-discovery bit. Many joke it should have been called Gordon: Year One. emoticon emoticon
