Re: Hot Toys - MMS186 - The Avengers: 1/6 HULK

Almost everything looks great, but the way the head sits bugs me quite a bit. It sits quite high, as if Hulk got a pretty long neck, which loses the iconic hunched over posture it always has. Wonder if it is something HT is aware of, and it is a relatively easy fix compare to any face sculpt redo.

People seem to hate this on the Sideshow forums. People want better articulation (with no hidden joints). People want all the joints hidden. People want Banner included. People want a base. People want hands to grip Loki. People all want this at $200. People on that forum are NUTS!

haha, ppl want everything!

The only thing I want is the ample articulation to create a classic hulk smash move like in marvel vs capcom.

But oh well...

I'm unsure over whether to get Hulk or not.

I do like how he looks but I would have preferred an alternate headsculpt or another set of hands to the PERS gimmick and I have major reservations about the longevity of the rubber covered arms.

I would like to pose Hulk holding another figure above his head ( maybe a Chitauri ) but am wondering whether that kind of pose will put too much stress on the rubber.

Were it cheaper I'd perhaps be less cautious about ordering but as $300 is likely to translate to £300 with the markup from import stores I'm reluctant to pull the trigger.

People keep talking about worrying about the rubber lasting. I own many rubber covered Hot Toys figures, going back to the Applesead figures, pretty much all the Batman figures, Rambo, Hellboy, etc. I have not had a single issue with the rubber other than it is slightly more challenging to clean. Will they crack in 40 years? Maybe....but I might be dead by then. I don't see how this is any different than worrying about a fragile piece on an Iron Man figure cracking over time.

Maybe if you live in an a extreme climate, with massive humidity, it might be an issue.

Yeah, what Grimlock said. My DX Batman, Leonidas, Dog Alien, Pred Alien, AVPR Alien, Big Chap Alien, the 2 Appleseed figures I have, Dutch and Chris Redfield are all still in perfectly good shape. Only my Aliens Warrior figure has degrading rubber skin - but I think that was their first attempt at the rubber skin and it was a pretty poorly made figure to begin with period. I have no worries about the longevity of the Hulk's arms.

I noticed rubber degradation occurs with people living in hot humid climates for some reason. Majority of complaints seem to come from the equatorial belt..(Singapore, Indonesia, Malay).

Those that live in drier climates don't seem to have this issue...I know that probably seems to go against logic...but that was just something I noticed. emoticon

OneSixthBruce are doing Hulk for £105 less than I was expecting so I've pre-ordered as even with my concerns about the use of rubber it's cheaper than most of my other HT figures cost so I'll take a gamble.

The only previous HT rubber figures I've had were Rocky & Clubber which I had no issues with as I took heed of the advice on the instructions and made sure I was extra careful on the few occasions I moved the arms,

So if I do the same with Hulk I should think he'll be fine and as I live in the UK it's not like I have to worry about the climate conditions emoticon
