Any audiophiles here? Looking to buy new headphones...

Can folks make a recommendation?

I've got my eye on Shure 840 and Audio Technica M50, any headphone enthusiasts here who can share some thoughts? I'm using for listening on my iPod. emoticon

Thanks guys!

I went with the Audio Technica M50 for $100 & also bought a pair of Audio Technica W55 as it was 'only' $60. Well, had to hit $149 or whatever the amount was to score free shipping, so kind of no brainer... emoticon

What am I going to do with all these headphones... now these sites are saying I need an amplifier to drive them to their max potential... can anyone help? emoticon

I just picked up a pair of Sony's Pulse Elite edition headphones. They have rumble pads built into the ear pads. Totally awesome. Wireless too.

I have the pulse [sign in to see URL] I rarely use the rumble/woofer feature, I find it irritating most of the times.

That said, sound quality is pretty good for music/gaming/movies for the price. It's ard $136USD for me locally.

I only wished its ear cups were bigger like the first PS3 wireless headphones, those were definitely more comfortable for prolong usage as it covers the whole ear, instead of pressing against your ears.

Some people don't like their ears sticking out too much, so the headphones prolly help to flatten your ears. emoticon

I paid $150 cdn at Best buy I think. Maybe a little less. I personally don't have any issues with the ear cups at all. If you're using them, make sure you download the app for it on the PS3, its got a lot of different sound profiles that make the rumbling less annoying depending on which you set it to.
