Sorry BigBoss, though Kubricks are probably far from dying out, I just don't think they're as popular in N. America when compared to other toy lines, so though there are many forums (like our site here) that have a Kubricks section, they aren't very busy. In fact, though this site was originally started to discuss Medicom's toys, for a few years now our Hot Toys section has been the most popular.

Please feel free to start as many topics about Kubricks as you like and perhaps other Kubrick fans will chime in. Maybe you can kick start this section up! One thing I could also do is update this section with new Kubricks news I come across.

As for me, I own several MGS Kubricks as well as a Gloomy Bear. I think they're very cool and they are in perfect scale with my extensive Playmobil collection. emoticon

I've always wanted to buy a few Kubricks (Berserk, Jin-Roh), but there have been other toys to spend my money on... What do you think of Minimates? I didn't think much of them before, though I do own a cool Blade & Punisher set, but the Walking Dead Minimates have been quite tempting. I would love to build a zombie horde!

That is a real shame. I wish they were much more popular here in the U.S.

Oh okay I understand, and yeah I can imagine. A lot of the 1/6 figures been getting a lot of talk...they are awesome indeed though xD Yeah! I will try to post here occasionally to hopefully rally up some other fans of kubricks.

Nice!! which MGS kubricks you have? I'm a huge MGS fan myself...just need one more for the collection...the Olive Drab Snake emoticon

I was in grade school around early 2000s when the MGS2 kubricks came out so I could have never bought any cause I was merely a kid. Over the past couple of months, I managed to collect all the things I wanted as a kid haha.

Yeah! a update with news would be great! Where would the ideal place to buy kubricks at? Like the newest released ones?

I agree, those Walking Dead minimates look very tempting but I just can't get into them. Kubricks>Minimates by FAR! xD

I believe mine are all from MGS4. I have got Raiden, Old Snake, and Skull Face Snake with the sneaking suit (with the red highlights on the elbows).

I think the issue with Kubricks is that other than some Disney licences and Star Wars, they do not make enough figures for a particular licence. They release only a handful of figures of a particular licence and that may not be enough to feed the collectors raging appetites for ongoing merchandise to buy. So if they get the Darkstalkers licence, for instance, I think they should release every single character in the line, not just Morrigan and whoever else. They should also get some more popular licences. People will be interested then.

I have had a look at the Medicom website and the latest Kubricks are the C3PO (with Salacious Crumb) and R2D2 (Jabba barge) and nothing announced for a while. Medicom is focusing on some ugly looking vinyl figures (ugly in my opinion of course). Bearbricks are still going pretty strong though, with Kick Ass 2 figures coming out soon. Go figure. emoticon

Last week, I caved and bought (nearly) all the Walking Dead Minimates off a seller from eBay ($200 shipped). emoticon Yeah, they do not have the same quality feel as Kubricks, but they are a bit cheaper and Minimates certainly know how to milk a franchise (and quench my collector thirst!). emoticon

The latest MGS ones huh?

That's a good point...I at first strictly focused on MGS but they stopped with the ones you have and no more of them. So I went on going kubrick crazy and have like 100+ from all different licenses. Star Wars one is next favorite one...hopefully with the new Star Wars movies, it continues emoticon

Yeah! I don't like those figures either...but bearbricks are indeed popular. I'm not entirely fond of them, but whatever xD

haha I will cave into MiniMates till there are MGS related ones :P

How many figures are in the whole Walking Dead set? Upload some pics!

Re: Walking Dead Minimates, I'll see what I can do! They're still in transit right now.

No MGS minimates yet, but they do have many other videogame characters, including Chris Redfield from Resident Evil. I may add him to my collection, he will go well with my zombie horde! emoticon
