Re: The Superhero Cartoon Thread

Yeah I've seen it Venny, I am thinking of the right one here aren't I?

Batman is chasing the Mad Hatter into a warehouse where he gets knocked unconcious. When he wakes up he's engaged to marry Selina Kyle and his parents are still alive.

Batman still exists but it's not him so he doesn't have the burden. But gradually he goes mad in the new reality and discovers the Mad Hatter trapped him in a dream machine.

If that's the episode you're talking about it was pretty cool one.

My favourite is Almost Got Im. I just thought the idea of seeing all the villains in their "off hours" is pretty cool. All sat around a bar playing cards and talking about how they almost got Batman.

I love the Killer Croc scene when he talks about how he almost got Batman and the other villains reaction to it.

"I hit him with a rock!"

One of the funniest moments in the series.

Yeah the classics are great aren't they?

I also liked the mid 90's Spider-Man cartoon (the one without counter earth 8() but I think the first three seasons were particularly strong, but they seemed to lose their way a bit towards the end.

Loved the Spider-Man slowly turning into six armed Spider-Man and finally Man Spider plot in season two and all the Goblin Venom/Carnage episodes in season three were pretty great as well.

Has this got a DVD release in the states?
Just seems a bit of an injustice the CGI MTV version is available and this isn't.

Re: The Superhero Cartoon Thread

Having only just recently seen Batman Gotham Knights, I don't think the series changed totally it just evolved like the comic books.

Most cartoons because they're aimed towards a younger audience stay the same all the way through their run. Personally I liked the change. The only thing I'd say is their wasn't enough explanation given when the show changed it's format, especially to people who'd be watching but new nothing about the comics.

Tim Drake got an introduction as Robin, but it was never explained (as far as I know) how Batgirl got to know the truth about Batman and Robin's identity and started to work with them. They also never did an episode showing Dick and Bruce falling out and Dick first becoming Nightwing. This stuff had just all happened when the new season started.

Perhaps that's why it was criticised.

Personally though I thought they did some great episodes "Joker's Millions" springs to mind that was hillarious, the whole "fake Harley" thing was brilliant.

I loved the episode that started with Commissioner Gordon and the cops chasing Batman and Robin into the Batcave. Batgirl was killed and Gordon blamed Batman for her death. I don't remember the title but it was like Batman Apocalypse. I couldn't work out how they were gonna get out of it, but then it all made sense at the end. You'll know what I mean if you saw it.

And the one with Tim Drake and the little girl who turned out to be a part of Clayface was good as well emoticon .

Really?

I must've missed that one on the box set, but I haven't seen all the episodes on it because i was keen to get started on Justice League season one.

Still motoring through season Two at the moment. Just watched the two parter where Wonder Woman goes clubbing with the princess and it turns out she's engaged to be married to Vandal Savage.

Then we watched the two parter with Despero trying to convert the whole universe to worship him. My g/f prefered that one as it focused on the Hawkgirl/Green Latern relationship which she really likes.

I haven't had the heart to tell her what's going to be happen.

Well we're more than half way through the second disc of a four disc set and if I'm right Starcrossed is the season finale right?

Do Hawkgirl and Green Lantern actually "get it on" before everything goes wrong and she gets banned from the JL?

I've read there's a two parter Joker episode towards the end of season two. Can't wait to get to it, but we're watching them in order as we haven't seen any of season two.
