Dragon body is cheap. Less than $10.
For boots, I just paint it over. Some area is glossy black and some area is dull dark gray. Pretty simple actually.
The boots are not that flexible, so basically the ankle articulation is ZERO !

No particular brushes. Use flat head brush for larger area and smaller point-tip brush for small area.
I use "Liquitex" basic acrylic paint. It is very easy to use. Just mix a little bit of water and good to paint.
You can get those from your local art supply store.
