arrghhh.....thats my main gripe with SLRs, u gotta spent more money on them.

btw, is there any pro-consumer camera by canon that u would recommand?

Cos I dont think Im ready to jump straight to SLR yet...

hope Im not boring u with the questions.

its no problem! But I really mean it when I say most cameras do a wonderful job, its all on the photographer to get the best results. If you were to buy ANY new digital camera from a reputable brand, you will be happy.

But if you are looking to buy, it all really depends on your budget. But since you didnt mention one, We can start at the top.

I know I was kind of dogging on the lens that comes with the Rebel, but know that there is nothing wrong with using it as your starter lens. It will still take great pics and you can learn your way around a manual camera at the same time. You can upgrade your lens when you are ready. But if its point and shoot you want-

The very next step below DSLR would be this puppy:

Canon PowerShot G7 10.0 Megapixel This is the top of the line point and shoot. It is Canons flagship powershot model. Its an awesome camera. And it looks so cool with its matte black finish. It has imagestabilization and is packed full of features. You can even attach the external flashes I mentioned earlier. It is not that small and is a bit heavy and clunky. Will set you back about $400.

Great info here, guys! Can't wait to see everyone's 'new & improved' pics! Remember another key is to practice practice practice! Don't be embarrassed or anything, pics by others are always interesting and feedback from others just makes you want to take even better pics to share the next time!

I've got a Rebel XTI, it wasn't too expensive and the price dropped by $100 again.

Planning to upgrade to an XTi hopefully in a couple of months.

whooa,,much to learn in here..i didn't know abt this thread till now..what a waste..heehee..

mastermonkey, thanks for the compliment, man..but i ain't some sort of shaman..heehee..i just think how cool to really cpature these figs in certain poses thats all..most of the stuff i know (and alot of which i don!!)of photography's already covered by these guys here in the thread..not to mention soe useful links!!thanks, fellas!!i'm nt much of a 'person' shooter..most of my stuff in that dep end up like crap..when it comes to fig my weapons are just

-tripod..too much coffee will do that to ya hand, man..not good..teeheehee

-self timer..half press, focus, press all the way..let go..and be patient..again..hand jerking or shake when it comes to press the shutter button..image stabilizer in my cam is great, but nt a miracle worker for me..heehee

-macro mode..the one on my cam goes all the way to 0cm (i use a powershot s3 is), which is ridiculous since at 0cm macro no light can enter between the lens and the object..heehee..normall the closet for me is 1cm away

-always take ur shots using the highest resolution, finest quality..i use a 2gb sd card so that no problem for me..

take endless shots dude!!
